Award a contract for construction works at Springwater School and Oak Beck House, Harrogate.

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To award a construction contract to Walter Thompson Ltd at a value of £2,806,466 for construction works at Springwater School and Oak Beck House, Harrogate. 

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The scheme will create additional teaching space at Springwater School, Harrogate and adaptations and refurbishment at Oak Beck House, Harrogate.

A competitiveprocurement exercise was undertaken between September 2023 and May 2024.  The scheme is programmed to commence on site in August 2024 and is due to complete in May 2025.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

This is a key decision.  The proposal to procure was entered on the forward plan in July 2023.

The procurement exercise will be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules and the Public Contracts Regulations 2015

RECOMMENDATION

To note that a construction contract is to be awarded to Walter Thompson Ltd.
